Community volunteers in Wa, Upper West Region, held a nutrition day for children under five. Caregivers brought children for growth checks, and health volunteers counseled families on feeding during the dry season, when fresh food is harder to find.
The session focused on porridge made from local grains, how often young children should eat, and when a child should be referred for further care. Similar outreach is running in communities across the Upper West and Upper East.
About 1,400 children have been screened through this round of visits.
