Near Savelugu in the Northern Region, women farmers planted okra and leafy greens on raised beds beside a small reservoir. The gardens give households vegetables and a little income after the rains stop and field crops are no longer in the ground.
The gardens sit alongside village savings groups. About 320 farmers are taking part, across six garden sites and 14 savings groups. Members pool small deposits so families can buy seed, cover school costs, or bridge the lean season.
Rahama Family Foundation provided seed, watering tools, and training in climate-smart planting.
